Who is responsible
My Tech Profile (my-tech-profile.dev) is the personal portfolio and technical publication of José Adrián Alemán Rojas, based in Costa Rica. For questions about your personal information, contact jaleman@itjobopportunities.io.
Information collected
- Newsletter: the email address you submit, your subscription status, subscription and confirmation dates, confirmation and unsubscribe links, digest delivery records, and an audit history of subscription requests and changes, including the consent text and legal document versions accepted.
- Visits and reactions: when you view the experience page or an article, or like an article, the site processes your IP address to create a pseudonymous visitor identifier. Engagement records store that identifier, the relevant page or article, and the event date, rather than the original IP address. This identifier is not fully anonymous.
- Technical requests: hosting and network services receive information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to deliver and protect the site. Their operational logs may contain this information.
- Direct contact: if you send an email or use a linked contact channel, the information you choose to share is used to respond to your message.
How information is used
Information is used to operate and secure the site, count visits and article reactions, respond to inquiries, and manage the newsletter. Subscribing is optional. Submitting your email requests a confirmation message; the daily digest is sent only after you confirm through the link in that message. Reading the public content does not require a subscription.
Service providers and external sites
Hosting, database, and email delivery providers process the information needed to deliver their services. Depending on their infrastructure, processing may take place outside your country. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google and sends technical request information, including your IP address. See Google Fonts privacy information. Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, and other external services are subject to those services’ own privacy policies when you visit them.
Retention and security
Newsletter records are kept to manage subscriptions, confirmation, delivery, and opt-out status. Unsubscribing stops future digests but does not automatically delete your email address or subscription history. You can request deletion by email. After a subscription is deleted, its audit events retain an opaque subscription reference, dates, actions, and consent evidence without a copy of the email address, IP address, or confirmation and unsubscribe tokens. Administrative events also identify the acting administrator. Visit and reaction records are retained to maintain historical engagement counts; they are not automatically removed when you close your browser.
Contact correspondence and technical records may be retained for responding to requests, security, and applicable legal obligations. Access controls and technical safeguards help protect information, although no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Use the unsubscribe link in any digest to stop receiving it. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent, write to jaleman@itjobopportunities.io. Include the email address associated with your subscription and describe your request. Additional information may be needed to verify that the request concerns your own data; do not send passwords or sensitive identity documents in your initial message.
Requests are handled according to applicable data protection law, including Costa Rica’s Law No. 8968. You may also raise a concern with the competent data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Any new use that requires your consent will require that consent separately.
